Week not going as planned...

...business going better than expected!

I haven't even put on a running shoe this week yet. I've been swamped at work and the running is taking a hit. I guess that's a good thing in a way, but I need to get some miles in for the sake of sanity!

Wednesday through Saturday are looking terrible (free time wise) too, so perhaps this will be my first zero week of the year?

Can one still run sub 3 and a fast 50K after taking a week (well, at least a week) off?

you do what ya gotta do brother. yo don't lose much, if anything in a week. I usually find that i come back stronger.

Yeah, because that time spent at the Brewers game drinking beer looked like time well spent, conditioning-wise.

And yeah and be sure to take whatever Car'lina Cletus says to heart because he's pretty smart, having bought himself one of those like kinky latex tri-suits, the kind with the codpiece, and now threatening to post pix of himself in it on his blog. Because anyone THAT stupid has just GOTTA be smart. Because let's face it: The world doesn't have enough vomit in it already.

I'm sure your legs appreciate the break. I don't think a whole week would hurt your training.

But what do I know?

SteveQ July 15, 2009 10:21 AM

The general rule is: every day you take off puts you back three days in training. If you could run a 3 hour marathon three weeks ago, then a week off won't hurt.

I'm sure with your dedication, you can make up whatever fitness you'll lose. Cheers!

Some weeks are like that, and you have to set your priorities. Running will still be there when work frees up some time for you.

To answer your question: I'm just as curious as you are. If so, you've just invented a new training plan.

For me, a week is the limit; not too difficult to bounce back from. More than that, though, and it declines pretty fast! I'd say get out for at least three miles, what's 20 mins for god's sake?

Too busy with your other project (98 Degrees), I suspect.

HI Nic

I have followed your training for quite some time now (fine, I may be a stalker) and I don't really think you need to worry. You are working from a good fitness base and that has to be worth something.... right?

Seriously, don't sweat it and glad to hear your bringing home the big bucks.
