2009: The Year of Glaven

"__ people have checked if Glaven has commented yet."

Perhaps the reason that I have posted so infrequently is because there are so infrequent comments to the post. I'm pretty sure very few people leave comments on this blog because one Glaven Q. Heisenberg is no longer commenting, or ridiculing me on his own blog. I'll be honest: I miss him.

There, I said it.

I somehow found G's site in late 2008 and immediately added it to my blogroll because of its great title of "Mostly Running, Some Bull@hi1^." (ps...I hope my computer thinks that I just wrote an email address). He immediately started commenting on my site and giving me a much unwarranted nickname of "Dr. Super Runner." (this was later changed to "Dr. Nic Medicine Woman," which was probably, in some way, more accurate). From then on I looked forward to taking the abuse he doled out in the comment section regarding pretty much any topic I touched on. I envy his ability to write. Brevity was not his strongsuit. (He left that to Teh 'Bride)

More than his "running" site, I enjoyed his "Why are you so F@ck&*g Angry?" blog (again, keeping the link), which I thought was absolutely must-read material. He often touched on the adventures of King Fisherman Ian, the hoarding tendencies home projects of his wife, Teh 'Bride, and also the HeisenDad. The closest I got to actually "knowing" him was an email address, which I used to get an address to send a gift to Teh 'Bride--a pint glass that reads "Fuzzy Yellow Beer is for Wussies"--, which I never got around to doing...yet...but I really enjoyed "knowing" him through the blog. It made my blog a LOT BETTER, TOO.

Here's to you, Glaven! I wish you and your family the most Merry Christmas possible!

(or, as you libs like to say..."Happy Holidays" :)

He disappeared without any explanation didn't he? In fact, if I remember correctly he did it twice.

i *THINK* i saw him lurking in my stats counter recently. I miss him too... hi Glaven.. if you read this. :)

Nice little vigil for a former blogger. Merry xmas. Cheers!

Things must be quiet around Kiel's "Happy Ending Chiropractic" without teh G-Man teasing you relentlessly. Maybe next year's birth announcement will bring him out of hiding.

Any chance the mailing address you got was in Princeton? Somehow, I got the willies if I thought he was there.

His third blog, on '60's music, was pretty insightful, too.

I'm trying to link my tribute to yours and failing miserably thus far.

I know what you mean. Between GQ, Marcy and now JoyRn, blogland is getting so quiet.

Hope you & yours had a wonderful Christmas, warlock - it gets even better here on out with the kid(s)!

You have Teh Glaven's e-mail??? And actual address, too? I'm jealous. It's just as well, though, because if I could pinpoint his exact location any more specifically than "somewhere in Joisey not far from a public library" then I'd surely drive there, show up on his doorstep and demand an explanation for his absence. And also whine piteously and tell him how much I miss him. Rotten, hilarious, hippie bastard, leaving us in the lurch like this...

Keep posting - you still have fans!! I just seem to have less and less time to catch up on blogs so I tend to read what I can and not comment so much...

Happy New Year! An exciting 2010 for you guys...

yea i'm still wondering why he just escaped. couldn't take the abuse? nah, that couldn't be it. but yea i used to get the best laughs at the insults he flung my way (like monkey dung - you know it's wrong but hilarious). i guess we'll always have our opera gloves to chuckle at.

Blogland is a very sad place without Glaven. He was like the kid in school who said totally inappropriate things but was hysterically funny. You know you shouldn't laugh because it just would encourage them but yet at least I would always chuckle...

Congrats again on your upcoming arrival and good luck with your running in 2010!

Happy New Year,
Tammy

2010: The Year Nic didn't say squat on his blog. The year he pretended being a father made him a man and compensated for a wussy 3:00:07 marathon. The year the arm panties led to more daring cross-dressing.

*sigh* I tried e-mailing him awhile back but nothin :-(

Marcy makes an appearance! Guess there's hope for a Glaven sighting yet.
